Innovation fund
You can also support us by donating to our Innovation fund. This donation will support new ideas and projects at Strode Theatre. It might help young people come to the theatre, or support artists to make new work here. There is so much we can do with a little help! The Innovation Fund is an initiative of the Friends of Strode Theatre, (reg. charity no. 1112942). Donating here does not buy or renew Friends membership.
Volunteer
Over 70 Volunteers
Strode Theatre would be unable to operate without the generous support of its volunteers, who help with Front of House duties for events as well as programme and merchandise sales and other behind the scenes activities, however we are always on the look out for more. If you would like to join our volunteer team please contact Leela on theatrevolunteers@strode-
Strode College
Strode Theatre is part of and maintained by Strode College. Strode College is mid Somerset’s further education college, offering a wide range of courses for all ages.
The Theatre are thankful to be part of the wider college team and the support that we receive from them.
The Friends of Strode Theatre
Registered charity number no. 1112942, The Friends of Strode Theatre was set up in 2006 to support the theatre, to improve the building and its facilities, and to enable innovation. Since local authority funding cuts of 2011, the Friends’ support has become more and more important and is now absolutely vital in keeping the arts alive and flourishing in Somerset.
Friends funds have so far paid for a whole range of improvements and developments: new sound systems for live shows and film; energy efficient LED light fittings throughout the building; digital projection; satellite installation for opera, ballet and plays on the cinema screen; new carpets and flooring; repairs to bar and foyer furniture; online booking and the box office system and development of the Studio.
Street Parish Council
We gratefully acknowledge financial support from Street Parish Council, without which we could not continue to offer the mixed programme of live events and film at Strode Theatre.
