With Strode Theatre closed until at least the end of May, and our plans for this season put on hold, we have decided to focus our programming efforts on a web-based, digital ‘programme’, so we can keep in touch with you, bring people together and provide entertainment, diversion, creativity and culture during these unusual weeks.
With many theatre companies, bands, performers and promoters currently offering content for free online, we are promoting selected gems via social media and through our website, pointing you in the direction of live-streams, recordings and videos from around the web – performances, concerts, exhibitions, talks and shows from the UK and around the world.
While you could, of course, press ‘play’ on many of these videos at any time that suits you, we are hoping to get many of you together online at the same time, so that, even though we can’t be in the same auditorium, we’re still having the shared experience and the opportunity to chat about the event on the Theatre’s Facebook page afterwards.
After a hugely enjoyable and promising start on 30th March with a Facebook streaming from Exhibition on Screen, for which our Facebook ‘Watch Party’ was attended by more than 200 people, we are making several weekly appointments with our audience for free streamings from theatre companies, bands, artists and promoters – we are constantly on the look-out for new, interesting online content to bring to you!
You can find our ‘Digital Programme’ on our ‘What’s On’ page or follow Strode Theatre on Facebook for news.
