Following their successful debut production at the Strode Theatre of The Barber of Seville in 2021, Bath Opera’s 2022 tour will be Tosca, one of Puccini’s most popular operas.
This most dramatic of operas charts the doomed love of painter Cavaradossi and opera diva Tosca under a despotic regime, whose cruel and ruthless chief of police Scarpia pursues them to the end. Among the arias made famous by Maria Callas and Luciano Pavarotti are ‘Vissi d’Arte’ and ‘E Lucevan le Stelle’. Musical Director will be Peter Blackwood and Stage Director Jane Clark. The cast is led by the Moldova Opera star Ghiulnara Raileanu, and supported by Bath Opera regular soloists, including Robert
Felstead as Cavaradossi, and Niall Hoskin as Scarpia.
