12 January 1899. The Bristol Channel. A raging storm.
As the ship The Forrest Hall struggles in the treacherous waters off Lynmouth, two communities rally together to mount a daring rescue of the imperilled crew before it’s too late.
Their only hope is Louisa, a ten-ton lifeboat, yet the mountainous seas make a launch from Lynmouth impossible.
However, a daring plan is concocted to drag her across fourteen miles of hills and moorland
to launch her in the storm-protected harbour of Porlock Weir. Will they make it before The
Forrest Hall and her crew are lost beneath the waves?
Join Exmoor’s own Pleasure Dome Theatre Company, celebrated producers of sensational
open-air theatre at the Valley of Rocks, along with the RNLI, as they recreate this astonishing true story of courage and community to a score of rousing sea shanties.
