Jenny Bliss Bennett, virtuoso baroque violinist, plays a programme of sonatas by the 17th-century composer Heinrich Biber. His inventive, beautiful music explored mystical themes, new techniques and tunings for the violin, and even bird song! Biber’s music still speaks today.

Jenny “delivers a passionate, soulful and intelligent interpretation of these fascinating works” (Handel Hendrix House). She is accompanied by world-class harpsichordist David Gordon, described as 'a genius' by figures as diverse as conductor Andrew Manze, violinist Christian Tetzlaff and JazzFM broadcaster David Freeman.


In the spirit of Biber’s inventiveness, Jenny and David will take a tune suggested by the audience and improvise it into a 17th-century sonata! Sensitive synth/guitar player William Kraemer will also join on stage to create a sublime new sound-world, in a premiere inspired by Biber’s Salzburg Mass.
