One of the most iconic mystery thrillers ever made, Carol Reed’s (The Fallen Idol; Oliver!) cinematic masterpiece from an original screenplay by Graham Greene returns to the big screen after the first major restoration on it’s 70th anniversary.

The labyrinthine plot involves pulp novelist Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten) who travels to shadowy, postwar Vienna, only to find himself investigating the mysterious death of an old friend, Harry Lime. Orson Welles stars as Harry Lime, with Alida Valli, Trevor Howard, Bernard Lee, Paul Hörbiger, and Ernst Deutsch heading up the other lead roles.

“...This will haunt you. The style, the plot, the character and of course...that tune...” William Thomas, Empire
