We have added a second matinee in the Studio on 20th September, due to strong demand

In the spring on 1960, a deserted young mother and a handsome poet met on the idyllic Greek island of Hydra – the beginning of a love affair that was to have long-lasting effects way beyond the couple involved. The young people were Norwegian expat Marianne Ihlen and a struggling Canadian writer named Leonard Cohen. Their relationship, their era and the initially utopian, later dysfunctional, bohemian set they were part of are beautifully brought to life in this documentary by an awardwinning filmmaker who was himself part of the story for a short time, Nick Broomfield (Whitney: Can I Be Me).
