Kim was born and raised in Cornwall. His poetry connects the natural world to the human condition with all its contradictions and uncertainties. His themes touch upon time, memory and how our individual emotional and physical experiences influence our view of the world and of nature in all its complexity. In many of his poems he utilises a sense of place, real or imagined, to reflect the importance of achieving harmony between nature and humankind. He was a teacher for twenty five years and has lived in Somerset since 1989, drawing inspiration from the local landscape and other places he has known in his life. He often employs gentle humour and a sense of spirituality in his work.

Kim has published Middle Age Spread, Uncovering and, most recently, Looking Out.
